The competition will be held in the Hall Rotunda in Brnenske Vystaviste, Brno, on the 27th and 28th of April 2024.
The Ballet Competition „Na špičkách“ has been established for the purpose of enlargement of competitive classical dance activities for young dancers. This competition is the only one of its kind in Moravia and is designated for nonprofessional dancers from the age of 4.
The participants from the Czech Republic as well as from abroad (Poland, Germany, Slovakia and Austria) will have an opportunity to show and to compare the level of their ballet skills. The main mission of this competition is to present results of long-term effort of children and teachers in front of the jury, parents, friends and public and evaluate this effort appropriately. Very important is also the exchange of new experiences in the dance field between students and teachers, making new contacts in the dancing field and also discovering new dance tallents by experienced experts. All participants will be judged by a jury consisting of significant personalities of the ballet world.
By organizing the first year of the competition in Brno we have established a new tradition, which cleared the way for opening the City of Brno for the young ballet world with due dignity.
In the competition are allowed to participate participate nonprofessional ballet schools, dance departments of School of Arts or individual dancers.
The competition is not open to any professional dancers (neither dancers studying at conservatory can participate) each dance performance should be based on principles of the classical ballet techniques in subcategories A, B and C. Performances in subcategories D and E should be based on principles of contemporary modern dance.
The decisive factor for categorization each participant is her/his age in the day of the competition, for couples or groups is decisive the average (not rounded) of their age in the day of competition.
Categories 1, 2 and 3 will be competing on Saturday, categories 4, 5 and 6 on Sunday.
The ordering of the categories can be changed according to the numbers of registered participants
Starting fee is to be paid in cash on the spot before the opening of the competition.
The Team of competent judges evaluates artistic and technical abilities and choreography
1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category will be awarded with prize and certificates. Moreover the jury can award a special prize. For insufficiently occupied cathegories will the prize will established by jury according to the number of achieved points.
The organizer reserves the right to change the program.
